    From Julie:

As we ease into  the long, cold days of February, the Wellness Committee would like to bring back our “Healthy Selfie” initiative and have some fun. Just like last year, we will introduce  some basic Wellness Challenges for the next 4 weeks, and ask that you join us. NONE of the challenges will be costly, will NOT include the words diet or exercise, and will hopefully just result in fun and fitness.

Week #1 Stay hydrated by drinking 8 glasses of water/day

Week#2  Stay active however you choose

Week#3  Stay satisfied by eating colorful (fruits and veggies)

    Week#4  Stay rested and relaxed

Very simple life reminders. As you meet your own personal goal each day, send in a “ Healthy Selfie” to my e-mail and we will create a Google Doc, so we can all celebrate each other’s success. Anyone who shares a Healthy Selfie will be entered in a drawing for a FITBIT at the end of the 4 weeks.

Week 1: Visit  the Health Office on Monday, January 28th for a nice cold one (bottle of water, of course), then start drinking.

Week 2: Watch for FOOTSTEP markers  in the halls to help you meet your walking goal.  Stop outside the Health Office at the end of the day and grunt your way through one minute of squats.  Plan to tour our new Weight Room facilities on Monday, Feb 4th   and learn how to use our state of the art fitness equipment to achieve  optimal results. Stick around after as  Michele is eager  to teach us her Kettlebell routine.

Week 3: Take a walk through our cafeteria line and sample some of the colorful vegetable and fruit offerings, or make your own  special recipe to share in the staff lounge. Plant Based cooking class, Monday, February 11 at 3:15. More information coming!

Week 4: Come  listen to an outside expert talk about how to sleep better on Wednesday, February 27th in Room 234. And maybe, just maybe,  when we go home at the end of the day, we could unplug our electronic devices and enjoy the quiet.

Just some of the many activities we would love to offer. Feel free to share what does and doesn’t work for you, or any other motivating ideas.

It is time to take better  care of ourselves. Please join us.
