Candidates that would like their name to appear on the ballot for the Sodus Central School District’s Board of Education must meet qualifications and submit name by 5:00 p.m. May 11, 2020.
There will be no minimum threshold number of signatures required for individuals to be placed on the June 9, 2020 ballot, except that you must meet all other requirements, including applicable residency and age. To be eligible to run for a Board of Education citizens must have been a resident of the district for a continuous and uninterrupted period of 12 months, be able to read and write and be 18 years of age.
Sworn statements of expenditures must be submitted as explained on the attached documents.
School Board members are elected with “at-large” seats meaning if there are vacant positions of different lengths, positions are filled in decreasing order of the number of votes and length of office. Thus, the candidate with the highest number of votes is entitled to the position of the longest length. The following vacancies are to be filled in the upcoming election:
- 1 Three-year term currently held by Laura Steffler-Alampi
- 1 Three-year term currently held by Tracy Sergeant
- 1 One-year term currently held by Tony Cincinello
- 1 One-year term currently held by Sarah Williams
The board member data sheet must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020 for your name to appear on the ballot. Names of candidates will appear in alphabetical order on the ballot.
