Sodus High School Student Council Honor Code Sodus High School Student Council has the highest expectations for its members. In keeping with the tradition of excellence, any individual seeking to hold a position of leadership must be willing to maintain a higher standard in all phases of her or his life. As a Sodus High School Student Leader, an individual will be accountable to the public as well as the school community. Please remember that being a part of Student Council is a privilege and not a right. We expect a higher standard of conduct from our members. Students wishing to follow this higher standard are encouraged to participate in the Sodus High School Student Council. A Student Leader: 1. Must reflect acceptable personal behavior both in school and in the community as defined in the Sodus High School Code of Conduct and the Athletics Training Rules. 2. Must not violate any rule within the Sodus Central School District that results in School Detention (ISS), After School Detention, or Suspension. 3. Must exhibit kindness and caring, respect and responsibility, and fairness and honesty at all times. 4. Must show respect toward personal property, school property, and school grounds . For example, they will not litter; waste supplies; mistreat furniture, computers, or other property; or deface desks, lockers, or books. Student Leaders will not commit vandalism or theft. They are expected to clean up after themselves during break and lunch. In addition to the penalties for not following the Code of Conduct and or the Athletics Training Rules, failure to comply with the Honor Code will result as follows: a) First Offence – one month suspension from Student Council b) Second Offence – two month suspension from Student Council c) Third Offence – student will be asked to resign from Student Council
